1. ReadInstructions- Allthesafetyandoperatinginstructionsshould

beretainedfor future reference.
3. HeedWarnings- Allwarningsontheapplianceandinthe operating
instructionsshouldbeadheredto.
4. FollowInstructions- Alloperatingand useinstructionsshouldbe
followed.
5. WaterandMoisture-Theapplianceshouldnotbeusednearwater
- forexample,nearabathtub,washbowl,kitchensink,laundrytub,
inawet basementor nearaswimmingpool,etc.
6. CartsandStands- Theapplianceshouldbe usedonlywithacartor
standthatisrecommendedbythemanufacturer.

facesmaycausetheapplianceand cartcombinationto
overturn.
6B. Till/Stability-AllteJevisionsmustcomplywithrecommendedinter-
nationalglobalsafetystandardsfortilt andstabilitypropertiesofits
cabinetdesign.
• Donotcompromisethesedesignstandardsbyapplyingexces-
s=vepull fumetothefret, or top,ofthecabinetwhichcould
ultimatelyoverturntheproduct.
Also,donotendangeryourself,orchildrenbyplacingelec-
tronicequipment/toysonthetopofthecabinet.Suchitems
couldunsuspectinglyfallfromthetop ofthesetandcause
productdamageand/orpersonalinjury.
7. Wallor CeilingMounting-Theapplianceshouldbemountedto a
wallor ceilingonly as recommendedbythemanufacturer.
8. Ventilation- The applianceshouldbesituatedsothatits locationor
positiondoesnot interferewith its properventilation.For example,
theapplianceshouldnot besituatedon a bed,sofa,rug, or similar
surfacethatmayblocktheventilationopenings;or,placedinabuilt-
ininstallation,such asa bookcaseor cabinetthatmayimpedethe
flowof air throughtheventilationopenings.
9. Heat- The applianceshouldbe situatedawayfrom heat sources
suchasradiators,heatregisters,stoves,orotherappliances(includ-
ingamplifiers)thatproduceheat.
10. PowerSources-Theapplianceshouldbeconnectedto apowersup-
plyonly of the typedescribedin the operatinginstructionsor as
markedontheappliance.
12. Cleaning- Theapplianceshouldbecleanedonlyasrecommended
bythemanufacturer.
13. PowerLines -An outdoorantennashouldbe locatedawayfrom
powerlines.
14. OutdoorAntennaGrounding- If anoutsideantennais connectedto
thereceiver,besuretheantennasystemisgroundedsoasto pro-
videsomeprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesand builtup static
charges.
Section810oftheNationalElectricCode,ANSI/NFPANo.70-1984,
providesinformationwithrespectto propergroundingofthe mats
andsupportingstructuregroundingof thelead-inwiretoan anten-
nadischargeunit,sizeofgroundingconnectors,locationof antenna-
dischargeunit,connectionto groundingelectrodesandrequire-
mentsforthegroundingelectrode.SeeFig.below.
15. Non-usePeriods- The powercord of theapplianceshould be
unpluggedfromtheoutletwhenleftunusedfor alongperiodoftime.
16. ObjectandLiquidEntry- Careshouldbetakensothatobjectsdo not
fallandliquidsarenotspilledintotheenclosurethroughopenings.
17. DamageRequiringService-Theapplianceshouldbeservicedby
qualifiedservicepersonnelwhen:
A. Thepowersupplycordortheplughasbeendamaged;or
B. Objectshavefallen,orliquidhasbeenspilledintotheappliance;
or
C. Theappliancehasbeenexposedtorain; or
D. Theappliancedoesnotappeartooperatenormallyorexhibitsa
markedchangeinperformance;or
E. Theappliancehasbeendropped,ortheenclosuredamaged.
18. Servicing-Theusershouldnotattemptto servicetheappliance
beyondthatdescribedintheoperatinginstructions.Allotherservic-
ingshouldbe referredtoqualifiedservicepersonnel.
Noteto the CAW system installer: This reminder is provided tocallthe
CArV system installer'sattentiontoArticle 820-40 ofthe NEC thatpro-
videsguidelines for propergrounding and, inparticular specifiesthatthe
cablegroundshallbe connectedtothe groundingsystem ofthe building,
asclose to the pointof cableentryas practical.
