An on-screen message will ask you to turn off the VCR, and – – : – – AM will appear on the display panel.

Press the POWER button to turn off the VCR.

Auto will flash in the display panel until the clock is set. Leave the VCR power off until the clock is set. If – – : – – appears on the display panel after you turn off the VCR, the VCR could not find the time. You may need to tell the VCR the PBS channel from which to take the time. Follow the steps on page 16.

Helpful Hints

The time will be updated at the top of each hour (except at 11 p.m., midnight, 1 a.m., and 2 a.m.).

To display the time on-screen, press the EXIT/STATUS button. (ON SCREEN MODE can not be set to OFF.) Details are on page 26.
