Searching for a desired track
Youcan select and play back tracks of your fa-
voriteartists and albums, etc. from GENRE,
ARTISTand ALBUM. As an example, the fol-
lowingprovides an explanation of the proce-
durefor selecting “Jazz”for GENRE,
“Artist2”for ARTIST and “Album B”for
ALBUMusing the illustration in the previous
sectionentitled, Over view of playlist selection
andpreference modes.
1 UseBAND (BAND/ESC) to switch to
GENRE.
GENREis displayed for about two seconds.
Eachtime you press BAND (BAND/ESC) the
displaychanges in the following order:
PLAYLIST(playlists)—GENRE (genres)—
ARTIST(artists)—ALBUM (albums)
!ALLis set for the default setting of GENRE,
ARTISTand ALBUM.
!Preferenceconditions are canceled when
switchingfrom ALBUM to PLAYLIST. How-
ever,the list currently being played (under
themost recent preference conditions) con-
tinuesto play until either of the following
proceduresare performed with the aor b
(orMULTI-CONTROL) button.
—Adifferent list is selected
—Anew preference list has been started
2 Useaor b(or MULTI-CONTROL) to se-
lect“Jazz”.
Playbackof “Jazz”tracks will start.
3 UseBAND (BAND/ESC) to switch to
ARTIST.
ARTISTis displayed for about two seconds.
4 Useaor b(or MULTI-CONTROL) to se-
lect“Artist 2”.
Playbackof tracks from “Album B”will start.
5 UseBAND (BAND/ESC) to switch to
ALBUM.
ALBUMis displayed for about two seconds.
6 Useaor b(or MULTI-CONTROL) to se-
lect“Album B”.
Playbackof tracks from “Album B”will start.
7 Usecor d(or MULTI-CONTROL) to se-
lectthe track you want to listen to.
Playbackof the selected track will start.

!Ifthe genre has already been selected, only ar-
tistsand albums of the selected genre can be
selected.If you want to select artists and al-
