Connecting up to your TV

Use the supplied AV cable to connect this DVD player to your TV. This cable feeds both audio and video to your TV. Before connecting, make sure that both this player and your TV are switched off and disconnected from the wall outlet.

Read the instructions that came with your TV if you’re unsure which inputs to use.

Do not connect this player to your TV through a VCR. Some discs are copy- protected and will not play properly when played via a VCR or when recorded on a VCR.

See pages 53 to 55 for how to connect this player up to an AV amplifier and other components.

Setting the TV system

(Except US and Canadian models)

This player is compatible with both PAL and NTSC TV systems. If your TV is compatible with both systems then set the

TV SYSTEM switch to AUTO, otherwise set it to the system your country or region uses.

When using the PDV-LC20 with the built-in screen, always set to PAL/LCD.

You cannot play PAL DVDs when the TV SYSTEM switch is set to NTSC.

You may need to adjust the vertical hold control on some PAL TVs when playing NTSC discs. Depending on the TV, you may also see black bars at the top and bottom of the screen.
