Troubleshooting

If there is a problem that persists after checking the points below, contact the store where you bought the player.

Power does not turn on

\AC adapter not connected properly (page 13)

\Battery is not charged (page 71).

Disc will not play

\Disc is damaged or dirty (page 65).

\Disc is not properly loaded (page 14).

\Incompatible region number (page 67).

\Condensation inside the player (page 63).

\Incompatible disc format (page 9).

\Disc is loaded upside-down (page 14).

\PDV-LC20 only: the player is set to AV input (page 55).

mark appears on screen

\The operation is prohibited by the disc.

\The operation is prohibited by the player.

\This setting will take effect when you next load a DVD disc.

Settings made when a disc was playing do not take effect

\Some settings do not take effect until the disc is stopped then started again (note that the resume feature may not work, depending on the setting(s) changed.)

Settings have been erased

\If power is cut or the player is unplugged while a disc is playing, any settings made while the current disc was playing will be lost. Always switch off the player using the OFF (7) button, or button on the remote.

Noisy picture when a DVD is recorded on a VCR or played via a VCR

\Some discs are copy-protected. Such discs will not play properly when played via a VCR or when recorded on a VCR.

Player cannot be operated with the remote control unit

\Remote control is outside its operating range (page 11).

\Battery in the remote control battery is exhausted (page 62).

TV or other device operates erroneously

\This player’s remote may interfere with other remote controlled devices.
