Fine Tuning The Polaris Cleaner

When operating correctly, the Polaris 380 vacuums, sweeps and scrubs all surfaces randomly throughout the pool. The climbing ability of the Polaris depends on the pool’s shape and water pressure or flow. The Polaris climbs best in pools without sharp angles or curves in the transition from the pool floor to the pool wall.

Approximately every three minutes the Polaris 380 goes into back-up mode. This action pulls the Polaris away from pool obstacles and increases its random pattern.

Thrust Jet Adjustment

The thrust jet powers the direction of the Polaris. Factory position is eleven o’clock, but depending on the pool, other settings are helpful.

Sweep Hose Adjustment

The sweep hose should move in a gentle sweeping motion. To increase or decrease its motion, turn off the booster pump and turn the sweep hose adjustment screw.

See Troubleshooting for other action adjustments.

Routine Maintenance

Cleaning the Filter Bag

Remove the bag collar from the feed hose and depress the prongs to release the bag from the cleaner. Open the bag closure and dump out the debris.

Whenever possible, empty the filter bag when it is half full, especially if the dirt load is sand.

It is easier to empty the filter bag when it is dry. Alternate between two filter bags. When one becomes full, remove it and put on the clean bag.

Backwashing the Pool Filter

Always disconnect the Polaris from the pool wall before cleaning or backwashing the pool filter. After cleaning or backwashing, let the filtration system run for at least five minutes to flush out the return lines before reconnecting the Polaris.

Storage and Winterizing

Never store the Polaris in direct sunlight. When storing for the winter, drain out all the water (freeze damage is not covered under the warranty). Remove the UWF from the pool wall by attaching the Quick Disconnect and using pulling pressure to unscrew. In some cases, it may be necessary to use the UWF Removal Tool (part #10-102-00) available from an authorized Polaris dealer.

380 specifications

The Polaris 380 is a standout in the world of automatic pool cleaners, known for its efficiency and advanced technology. Designed to keep both residential and commercial pools sparkling clean, the Polaris 380 offers a combination of performance, durability, and ease of use that makes it a popular choice among pool owners.

One of the main features of the Polaris 380 is its powerful three-wheel drive system. This unique technology allows the cleaner to navigate around the pool with unmatched agility, covering all areas meticulously. With a large suction intake and a strong jet propulsion system, the Polaris 380 effectively removes debris, dirt, and leaves from the pool floor and walls. Its robust design ensures that it can tackle even the toughest cleaning jobs, making it suitable for various pool types, including in-ground pools with a smooth or textured surface.

Equipped with a special filtration system, the Polaris 380 captures both large debris and fine particles, providing a comprehensive cleaning experience. The dual-chamber filtration bag ensures that it can handle a significant amount of debris before needing to be emptied, enhancing convenience for users. This efficient filtration capability allows the Polaris 380 to maintain a cleaner pool environment, reducing the need for additional filtration systems and improving water clarity.

Another admirable characteristic of the Polaris 380 is its ability to operate independently of the pool’s main filtration system. This means that with its own dedicated booster pump, the cleaner works efficiently without putting additional strain on the pool’s existing filtration system. This feature not only prolongs the lifespan of the pool's pump but also enhances overall cleaning efficiency.

Installation of the Polaris 380 is straightforward, requiring minimal setup. The auto-reverse feature allows the cleaner to avoid obstacles and change direction automatically, ensuring that every part of the pool is thoroughly cleaned. Additionally, the Polaris 380 is compatible with various pool shapes and sizes, making it a versatile solution for pool owners looking to maintain a pristine swimming environment.

In conclusion, the Polaris 380 combines advanced cleaning technology, user-friendly features, and efficient performance, making it an excellent investment for anyone seeking to keep their pool clean effortlessly. Its three-wheel drive, powerful filtration, and independent operation set it apart in the competitive landscape of pool cleaners, guaranteeing exceptional results and a hassle-free experience for users.
