depth gauge witha flat file.

gaugeshould be flat with thefront
halfrounded offwith a flat file.

source before installing a bar and/or
chain.
CHAIN REPLACEMENT
WARNING: Wear protective
gloves when handling chain. The chain
issharp and can cut you even when it is
not moving.
Itis normal for a new chain to stretchdur-
ingthe first 15 minutesof operation. You
should recheck your chain tensionfre-
quentlyand adjust the chain tension as
required. See CHECK CHAIN TENSION
section.
Replacethe old chain when it becomes
worn or damaged. Use only the Low
Kickback replacement chain specified
inthe list of available replacementparts.
Thechain must comply with kickbackre-
quirementsof ANSI B175.1 when tested
with this saw.
See an authorized servicedealer to re-
placeand sharpen individual cutters on
your chain.
TO REPLACE CHAIN:
1. Disconnect the chain saw from the
power source.
2. Turn the unit upside down on a flat
surface. Straighten out chain, then
layit on a flatsurface.

clamp plate,and old chain.
4. Turn the adjusting screw counter-
clockwise tomove the adjusting pin
almostas far as it will go to the rear.
Do not remove the adjustingscrew
fromthe unit.
5. Hold chain with cutters facing as
shown.
