GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
Thewarranty on this unit does not cover
itemsthat have been subjected to oper-
atorabuse or negligence. Toreceive full
value from the warranty, the operator
must maintain unit as instructedin this
manual. Variousadjustments will need
to be made periodically to properly
maintain your unit. Improper mainte-
nance may cause damage to the unit
andpossible injury to the operatoror by-
standers.
CHECK FOR DAMAGED OR
WORN PARTS
Contact an authorized service dealerfor
replacement of worn or damaged parts.
NOTE:It is normal for a small amount of
oil to appear under the saw aftermotor
stops.Do not confuse this with a leaking
oiltank.
STrigger Switch -- Ensure the trigger
switch functions properlyby squeezing
and holding the trigger switch. Make
sure motor starts and stops .
SOilTank --Discontinue use of chainsaw
if oil tank shows signs of damage or
leaks.
SExtension Cord -- Discontinue use if
chain saw extensioncord shows signs
of damage or wear.

WARNING : Wear protective
gloveswhen handling chain. Thechain
issharpandcancutyouevenwhenitis
not moving.
Chain tension is very important. Chain
stretches during use. This is especially
trueduring the first few times you use your
saw. Always check chain tension each
timeyou useyour saw.
1. Unplug unit from the power source.
2. Use a screwdriver to move chain
aroundguide bar to ensure kinks do
not exist. The chain should rotate
freely.
3. Lift lever on bar knob and turncoun-
terclockwise 1 turn to loosen bar
clamp.
LOOSEN
4. Turn adjusting wheel (downward di-
rection) to tension chain until chain
solidlycontacts bottom of guide bar
rail.Lift tip of guide bar while adjust-
ing tension.
