What type and size of battery should I use?
We recommend
WARNING! Corrosive chemicals are contained in batteries. Use only AGM or
NOTE: Sealed batteries are not serviceable. Do not remove the caps.
To change a battery in your scooter:
WARNING! Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wash hands after handling.
WARNING! Prevent injury and/or equipment damage! Do not mix or match new and old batteries. If you encounter a situation where one battery needs to be replaced, then replace both batteries. Refer to specifications table in this manual and the manual supplied with
the battery charger for recommended type and capacities.
1.Remove the seat.
2.Remove the battery packs from the scooter. Always remove the left side battery pack first. See IX. “Disassem- bly andAssembly.”
3.Remove the 7 screws from the underside of the pack.
4.Arrange the pack so the handle is facing up and slowly remove the cover and situate it as shown in figure 9.
5.Disconnect the battery cables from the battery termi- nals by removing the nut and bolt from each terminal.
6.Remove the old battery.
7.Place a new battery into the battery pack.
8.Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.
9.Connect the black battery cable to the negative
10.Replace battery pack cover.
11.Reinstall the 7 screws that hold the pack together and tighten.
12.Reinstall the battery packs onto the scooter and close the battery locks. Always reinstall the right side bat- tery pack first.
13.Reinstall the seat.
NOTE: If you encounter a damaged or cracked battery, immediately enclose it in a plastic bag and call your authorized Pride Provider for in- structions on disposal. Your authorized Pride
