To enter a rest, press 0 then use num- bers 1 through 9 to specify the length of the rest.

Correcting Mistakes

Before finishing your step recording en- try, you can move the entry point back to correct the data you entered. However, this operation deletes all data after the point where you make corrections.

1.Before you press MEMORY, STEP, or START/STOP to end recording, press . This moves the entry point back one “space.”

The data recorded at the current entry point appears on the display.

2.While monitoring the data on the display, press or to move the entry point to the data you want to change.

3.At the entry point you want to change, press + and at the same time. Rewrite? appears on the display.

4.Press to clear all data after the current entry point.

5.Press , , +, or to cancel the rewrite operation. After that, you can press or to move the entry point to another location if you want.

Note: TrackEnd appears on the display if you press at the end of the recording.

RECORDING MULTIPLE TRACKS

In addition to the Track 1, where you record auto accompaniment as well as keyboard play, there are five other melo- dy tracks that you can use to record mel- ody parts only. You can record different tones on these tracks and build a full en- semble of instruments.

You can play back what you already re- corded on Track 1 (or any other track) while you record on Tracks 2–6.

Real-Time Recording

1.Repeatedly press MEMORY until Rec. No. appears.

2.Within 5 seconds, use + or to select a song number.

3.Press the desired MEMORY TRACK button (26) to select the track you want to record on.

Note: Check the display for Chan- nels 11–16 to see which memory tracks contain data and which are empty.

4.If desired, you can change these settings:

TEMPO (to a tempo that is easy for you to follow)
