A Honeywell high limit thermostat is used on both On/Off and Hi/Lo |
|

water heaters (refer to “Location of Controls” on page 29. | The |

thermostat has a capillary style temperature sensor located in a well |
|
| ||
(pocket) fitted in the outlet header and senses the temperature of the |
|
| ||
water leaving the water heater. |

The high limit temperature setting is adjusted by removing the front |

|
|
The high limit is reset by pressing the red button on the front of the |
|
| ||
thermostat. It may be necessary to allow the system water |
|
| ||
|
| |||
temperature to cool sufficiently before the high limit can be reset. |

In general, the high limit should be set approximately 15°C above the operating temperature, however the following maximum limits must be observed:
•Water Heating Applications: 90°C maximum.
•Mechanical/Process Heating Applications: 99°C maximum for vented systems and 90°C maximum for unvented systems.
