Several displays appear on the LCD monitor or in the viewfinder to aid in the operation of the camcorder. You can press and hold the MENU/DISPLAY button for more than one second to remove or display the battery level indicator, tape-length indicator, and tape-remaining display.

Battery Level Indicator ( )

•This indicator shows the amount of power left in the rechargeable battery.

•This indicator flashes when the battery is almost empty.

Cassette Warning

•The indicator flashes when the POWER switch is set to CAMERA and there is no cassette in the camcorder.

•The indicator flashes when the POWER switch is set to CAMERA and the safety tab is set to REC OFF or removed from the cassette.

AUTO DATE, Date, Time, or Date and Time

Display the DATE/TIME DISP. menu to display AUTO DATE, Date, Time, or the Date and Time

•These displays are recorded when they are displayed. If you do not want to record one of them, select OFF in the menu.

This indicator appears when you select SEPIA to give your record- ings a brown-tone like old photo- graphs.
