Trouble Checks

		Trouble	Here's what to try:

		Clock shows incorrect time or date	• Power interruption. TIMER indicator flashes on front of TV/VCR.
			• Clock was not set accurately (check AM/PM and date).
			• Time zone or daylight savings time information incorrect. See page 4.

		TV/VCR makes noise when stopped	• TV/VCR is removing tape from heads. This is normal. The head cylinder
			inside the TV/VCR will continue to rotate for a few minutes after you put the
			VCR in the stop mode.

		Will not auto channel search active	• Check antenna or cable connections.
		channels correctly

		Cannot see closed captions on screen	• Closed caption function must be set to on. See page 9.
			• Station may not be broadcasting closed captions.

		Box appears on screen	• A text feature has been selected. See page 9

		TIMER indicator flashing on front of TV/VCR	• Power interruption. Check clock. See page 4.
			• Timer program set and TV/VCR turned off with no cassette or cassette with
			no safety tab inserted. See page 16.

		Tape plays over and over	• Auto repeat play turned on. See page 14.

		Tape starts playing automatically	• Auto play feature turned on. See page 14.

		TV/VCR turns off automatically	• Sleep timer turned on. Press POWER to turn TV/VCR back on.

		TV/VCR turns on automatically	• Wake up timer (alarm) turned on. See page 10.

		Rainbow effect appears on TV/VCR picture	• TV/VCR swiveled while it was operating. Unplug the TV/VCR, swivel it
			into place, wait one hour, and then plug it back in.

		Cannot record one program while watching	• TV/VCR only has one tuner. Only one program can be watched and
		a different program	recorded at the same time.
