USING THE RESTART SWITCH
Thescanner'sdisplaymightlockupthefirsttimeyouplug in andturnon yourscanner,or if the batteryis leftoutfor an e)$endedperiodof time.lf the displaylocks,usea pointedobject,likea paperclip,to pressand releasethe restartswitchwhilepowerison.
To clearallthememories,besurethescanneristurnedon
and:
1. Pressandhold[CLEAR].
2.Usinga pointedobject,pressand releasethe restart switch.
3.Afterconfirmingthat the displaygoes blank,release tcLEARl.
SETTINGTHE VOLUME AND SQUELCH
scannerstartscanningagainif thetransmissioncontains nosound(carrieronlywithoutmodulatedsignals).
lf your scannerstopsat a frequencythat has no sound, press[SOUNDSQUELCH]The. indicatortights.tf the scannerdetectsno soundwithin0.5seconds,it goesto theneldtransmission.
When the scannerreceivesa frequencythat contains sound,it haltsat the frequencylf. the soundceases,the scannerstays on the frequencyfor 5 seconds,and resumesscanninglf. thecarrierstops,thescannerbegins to scanimmediatelyif the delayfunctionis off,or after2 secondsifthedelayfunctionison.
To cancelsound squelch,press [SOUNDSQUELCH] againThe.indicatorgoesoff.
