Using a KVM Switch

Quad Screen

In quad-screen view, the Viewer displays video from up to four remote computers by controlling the KVM switch to change ports. Keystroke events to cause the KVM switch to select a computer port are defined using the KVM Switch tab of the Settings menu.

You may toggle between single-screen view and quad-screen view by clicking the:

Single or Quad commands of the View menu

Quad Screen toggle button on the toolbar

When you select quad-screen view for the first time, your screen remains the same, except that the toolbar shows four remote computer select lists, one for each quadrant. The position of the select box corresponds to a quadrant. Once you select more than one computer in the select boxes, the Viewer divides its display area into four quadrants. All the quadrants are always the same size and each video image scales to fit into a quadrant. The Viewer save the names you select in the remote computers select boxes and displays them the next time you select quad-screen view.

Quad-screen view is a view only mode – mouse and keyboard do not control any of the four remote computers and the Viewer does not enable pass-through mode.

You may select full-screen view while in quad-screen view; however, you may not switch remote computers in the quadrants because the toolbar and the remote computer select lists are not visible.
