Using the Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, or Manual mode

Using the Aperture Priority mode

The Aperture Priority mode allows you to set the aperture value manually while the camera automatically selects an appropriate shutter speed.

1Rotate the mode dial to .

2Select .

To select another mode when the mode dial is set to , press [r] and then select a mode.

3Scroll the command dial to adjust the aperture value.

You can also adjust the aperture value by pressing [f/s], moving to the aperture value, and then scrolling the command dial.

4Set the desired options.

For a list of options, refer to "Shooting options". (p. 61)

5Align your subject in the frame, and then half-press [Shutter] to focus.

6Press [Shutter] to capture the photo.

When you set the ISO option to Auto, the shutter speed may not change automatically to match the aperture value. In this case, the camera finds an appropriate exposure value by changing the ISO option automatically when you capture a photo. To set the ISO option manually, press [m], and then select ISO

an option.
