ACB (automaattinen kontrastin säätö)

Tämä ominaisuus parantaa kuvien kontrastia automaattisesti, kun kohde on vastavalossa ja kohteen ja taustan välillä on voimakas kontrasti.

AEB (automaattinen valotusalue)

Tämä ominaisuus ottaa automaattisesti useita kuvia eri valotusarvoilla ja auttaa siten ottamaan oikein valotettuja kuvia.

AF (automaattinen tarkennus)

Järjestelmä, joka tarkentaa kameran objektiivin kohteeseen automaattisesti. Kamera tarkentaa automaattisesti kontrastin avulla.

Aukko

Aukko säätelee sitä, paljonko valoa kameran kennoon pääsee.

Kameran tärinä (kuvan epäterävöityminen)

Jos kameraa liikutetaan sulkimen ollessa auki, koko kuva saattaa näyttää epäterävältä. Näin tapahtuu useiten suljinnopeuden ollessa matala. Voit estää kameran tärinää suurentamalla herkkyyttä, käyttämällä salamavaloa tai käyttämällä nopeaa suljinnopeutta. Voit vakauttaa kameran myös jalustan tai DIS- tai OIS-toiminnon avulla.

Sommittelu

Sommittelulla tarkoitetaan valokuvauksessa kuvan kohteiden järjestelemistä. Kolmanneksien säännön noudattaminen tuottaa tavallisesti hyvän sommittelun.

DCF (Design rule for Camera File system)

Standardi, joka määrittelee digitaalikameran tiedostomuodon ja tiedostojärjestelmän ja jonka on kehittänyt Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA).

Syväterävyys

Se lähimmän ja kaukaisimman pisteen välinen matka, joka voidaan tarkentaa hyväksyttävästi valokuvassa. Syväterävyys riippuu objektiivin aukosta, polttovälistä ja kameran etäisyydestä kohteeseen. Esimerkiksi f-luvun pienentäminen vähentää syväterävyyttä ja epäterävöittää sommittelun taustaa.
