Digitaalikameran osa, joka sisältää kutakin kuvan pikseliä vastaavan valokuvan osan. Kukin valokuvan osa tallentaa valotuksen aikana siihen osuvan valon kirkkauden. Tavallisia sensorityyppejä ovat CCD (varauskytketty piiri) ja CMOS (komplementaarinen metallioksidipuolijohde).

ISO-herkkyys

Kameran valoherkkyys, joka pohjautuu vastaavaan filmikamerassa käytettyyn filmin nopeuteen. Suuremmilla ISO-herkkyysasetuksilla kamera käyttää suurempaa suljinnopeutta, mikä vähentää kameran tärinästä ja hämäryydestä johtuvaa sumeutta. Makro
