Les appareils numériques d'imagerie, comme les appareils photos numériques, les moniteurs et les imprimantes disposent de leurs propres spéciﬁcités techniques pour représenter les couleurs, que l'on nomme espaces colorimétriques.

L’appareil photo vous permet de sélectionner deux espaces colorimétriques : sRGB ou RGB Adobe.

sRGB est couramment utilisé aﬁn de recréer les couleurs sur des moniteurs d’ordinateurs et constitue également l’espace colorimétrique standard pour les données Exif. sRGB est recommandé pour les images habituelles et celles que vous souhaitez publier sur Internet.

RGB Adobe est utilisé pour des impressions professionnelles et dispose d'une gamme de couleurs plus importante que sRGB. Sa gamme

de couleur plus importante vous permet de modiﬁer facilement des photos sur un ordinateur. Remarque : les différents programmes ne sont généralement compatibles qu'avec un nombre limité d'espaces colorimétriques. Si vous ouvrez une image dans un programme non compatible avec son espace colorimétrique, les couleurs apparaîtront plus légères.
