Where is the Start button on the desktop?

There is no Start button in Windows 8. Access the Control Panel, menus, and applications by activating the Charms.

Where is the Shut down button?

To shut down the computer safely, open the Charms and select the Settings charm →Power →Shut down.

My application disappeared from the Start screen. How can I correct this?

Open the Charms and select the Search charm to display all installed applications. Right-click the application and select Pin to start to make it appear on the tiles on the Start screen.

Can I use the Windows 7 desktop?

Currently, there is no way to set the desktop to appear by default. Press the Windows key () and the D key simultaneously to reveal the desktop when the Start screen appears. This is currently the only workaround.

How can I install a printer driver?

Run the driver installation file and follow the on-screen instructions.
