Metering
Ifyou cannot obtain suitable exposure conditions, you can change the
metering method to take brighter pictures.
[Multi]: Exposure will be calculated based on
anaverage of theavailable light in the
image area. However, thecalculation
will be biased towards the centre ofthe
image area. Thisis suitable forgeneral
use.
[Spot] : Only the rectangular area in the centre
ofthe LCD monitor wiltbe metered for light. This is suitable
when the subjectin the centreis exposed correctly, regardless
ofthe backlighting.
Ifthe subjectis not the centre ofthe focus area, donot use thespot
metering as this may resultin an exposure error, tn this circum-
stance, itisbetter touse exposure compensation.
Sharpness
Youcan adjust the sharpness ofthe picture
you are about to take.You cannot check the
sharpness effecton the LCD monitor before you
take a picture, because this function is applied
only when the captured image is stored onthe
memory.
[Soft+]/[Soft] :The edges of the image are softened. This effect is
suitable for editing images onyour PC.
[Normal] :The edges of the image are sharp.
This is suitable for printing.
[Vivid]/[Vivid+]: The edges of the image are emphasized.
The edges willappear sharp,but noisemay occurin the
recorded image.
