You also can connect a set of active speakers (speakers which with built-in amplifier) for better sound effect when using HDMI port for viewing DVD.

Connecting HDMI Port

HDMI is for connecting HD Satellite, HD Digital Cable Set-top Boxes or other device with HDMI port. The HDMI port also doubles as HDCP/DVI port. If your HD set-top box does not have HDMI but DVI instead, please use the HDMI to DVI conversion cable that is included in the box. When using HDMI to DVI conversion cable please also plug audio wires into PC Line In port for sound. Note: PC Line In is for sound on HDCP/DVI.
