Ahora puede Vd. moverse libremente dentro de su vivienda y en el jardín, sin molestos cables. Gracias al sistema de auriculares HF RS 4 de Sennheiser, la señal acústica estéreo de su equipo HiFi, o de cualquier otra fuente de sonido, es transmitida inalámbricamente.

El sistema RS 4 trabaja en una frecuencia portadora de unos 434 MHz (RS 4), o bien de 926 MHz (RS 4-9). Esta banda “ISM” ha sido autorizada por el servicio de correos en general para “utilización sin fines lucrativos” y por tanto no sólo puede emplearse para la transmisión inalámbrica del sonido sino también para telemandos, etc.

La distancia máxima entre el transmisor y el receptor puede ser de hasta 100 m. La transmisión es clara y nítida, incluso si hay muros y techos interpuestos, ya que las ondas del radio pueden penetrar a través de ellos (casi) sin impedimento alguno. No es indispensable que haya unión visual entre el transmisor y el receptor. El único obstáculo son las piezas metálicas existentes, p.ej. en construcciones de hormigón o en recubrimientos de paredes en los cuales se reflejan las ondas radioeléctricas.

Con un sólo transmisor pueden emplearse tantos auriculares como se desee, recibiendo una señal acústica común.

Si hay varios sistemas de auriculares inalámbricos RS 4 en funcionamiento, y estos se encuentran relativamente cercanos entre sí (en otra planta, en casa del vecino, o incluso al otro lado de la calle), pueden elegirse tres canales de transmisión independientes. De tal manera, cada uno puede elegir la música que desea oír.
