The OPTION menu

The OPTION menu controls display contrast, memory checking and deletion of data.

The OPTION display

Press @ o (S key) to show the OPTION menu.

Press j to return to the mode in which you were working previously.

Contrast

Press 0 in the OPTION menu to show the LCD CONTRAST display.

Press + to darken the display and

- to lighten it.

It is possible to lighten the display so much

that the calculator appears to be off. If the display remains blank when you press X, press @ o 0 and then press + repeatedly to darken the display.

Memory check

Press 1 in the OPTION menu to show the MEMORY CHECK display.

The amount of free memory in bytes is shown on the first line. When the calculator is used for the first time, the following amount of memory is available.

The figures after EQTN are the numbers of equations (Filing equations functions) in the NORMAL mode.

The figures after PROG are the numbers of programs stored in the PROG mode.
