SETTING THE VIDEO SETUP

	-- VIDEO PAGE --		• TV ASPECT : When selecting a picture size according to the aspect ratio of
ENGLISH			your TV's screen
	TV ASPECT	4:3 LETTERBOX	• SCART VIDEO : When selecting the(composite (regular)) video signal or the
	SCART VIDEO	4:3 PAN-SCAN	S-VIDEO signals to be output from the unit's A/V SCART
			OUTPUT connector. (Regional Option for Eurpoe, etc. only)
	PIC MODE	16:9 WIDE
			• PICTURE MODE : When selecting the picture mode according to the type of
	MAIN PAGE		content being played back.

• Then the setting menu of the selected item is displayed.

When selecting the TV ASPECT

•When you connect a normal TV with 4:3 aspect ratio to the unit, select either “4:3 LETTERBOX” or “4:3 PAN-SCAN” and when you connect a wide TV with 16:9 aspect ratio, select “16:9 WIDE”.

•4:3 LETTERBOX : DVD Videos recorded with the 16:9 aspect ratio are reproduced in the letter box screen which has black bands on the top and bottom.

•4:3 PAN-SCAN : DVD Videos recorded with the 16:9 aspect ratio and the pan-scan specification are reproduced in the pan-scan screen which automatically trims the left and right of picture.

•16:9 WIDE : DVD Videos recorded with the 16:9 screen are reproduced by filling

the TV screen.

Note: Depending on some DVD Videos, the playback picture may not conform to the TV aspect setting you select.

When selecting the SCART VIDEO(Regional Option)

•For some countries like Europe, this DVD player incorporates the A/V SCART OUTPUT connector which can deliver either the composite (regular) video or the S-VIDEO(Y and C) signals as well as the audio L and R signals for easy connection.

•When the SCART connections between the unit and video components are made, depending on whether you use the composite (regular) video signal from the SCART connector or the S-VIDEO signals, you can select either the composite (regular) video or the S-VIDEO.

Note :

•Be sure to set your TV and VCR to the corresponding one of the composite (regular) video and S-VIDEO modes to match the SCART VIDEO setting of the DVD player.(Refer to the operating instructions of the component(s) connected.)
