Security

The phone and SIM card are protected against misuse by several security codes.

Keep these security codes in a safe place where you can access them again if required.

Change codes

PIN	Protects your SIM card (per-
CODE	sonal identification number).
PIN2	This is needed to set the
CODE	charge detail display and to
	access additional functions on
	special SIM cards.
PUK	Key code. Used to unlock SIM
CODE	cards after the wrong PIN has
PUK2	been entered repeatedly.
CODE
Barring	Used to set restrictions that
code	prevent calling to certain types
	of numbers.

PIN control

The PIN is usually requested each time the phone is switched on. You can deactivate this feature but if you do so, you risk unauthorised use of the phone. To be able to use all available security codes, you must have the PIN control activated. Some service providers do not permit deactivating the control.
