Double insulated Tools

Double Insulation        is a design concept used in elec tric
power tool s which eliminates the need fo r the three w ire
grounded pow er cord and grounded power supply system. It is
a recog nized and appro ved system by Underwri ter’s Lab -
oratories, CSA and Federal OSHA authorities.
impoRTANT: Servicing of a tool with double insulation re -
quires car e and knowledge of th e system and should be
performed only by a qualified service technician.
WHEN SER VICING, USE ONLY IDENTIC AL REPLA CE -
MENT PARTS.
POLARIZED PLUGS. To reduce the risk of electric shock,
your tool is equipped with a po lar ized plug (one blade is wider
than the other), this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one
way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug.
If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet. To redu ce the risk of electric sho ck, do not
change the plug in any way.

extension cords

Replace damag ed co rds i mmediate ly. U se of dama ged
cords can shock, burn or elec trocute.
Always use proper extension cord. If an extension cord is
necessary, a cord with adequate size con ductors should be
used to prevent excessive voltage drop, loss of power or over -
heating. The table shows the correct size to use, de pending
on cord length and nameplate amperage rating of tool. If in
doubt, use the next heavier gauge. Always use U.L. and CSA
listed extension cords.
