The default setting of authentication mode, which

 

communicates the WEP key across the network.

 

 

Shared-key

Allow communication only with other devices

 

with identical WEP settings.

WPA-PSK/

Allow communication only with other devices

WPA2-PSK

with identical WPA/ WPA2 settings. WPA/ WPA2

 

provide stronger security than WEP encryption.

For Open or Shared-keyas the authentication mode, please complete the following settings:

Encryption: Select the WEP option to enable the data encryption feature to secure the camera within the wireless network.

Format: Once the encryption feature has been enabled, determine the encryption format by selecting ASCII or Hex.

Key Length: Select the WEP key length to use: 64 bits or 128 bits.

WEP Key 1/2/3/4: Enter the WEP key(s) in the following boxes. Please consider the following requirements to define the WEP keys:

64-bit ASCII: 5 characters allowed

128-bit ASCII: 13 characters allowed

64-bit Hex: 10 characters allowed (a-h, 0-9)

128-bit Hex: 26 characters allowed (a-h, 0-9)

For WPA-PSKor WPA2-PSKas the authentication mode, please complete the following settings:

Encryption: Select TKIP or AES. TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) changes the temporal key every 10,000 packets to ensure much stronger security than the standard WEP encryption with static keys. AES (Advanced Encryption
