Listening to audio from a

connected component

1 Connect the audio cord.

See “Hooking up optional components” on page 22.

2 Press FUNCTION repeatedly until “MD” or “TAPE” appears.

Start playing the connected component.

To switch the function from “MD” to “TAPE”

When you listen to the connected tape deck, do the following procedure.

1Turn on the system.

2Press FUNCTION repeatedly until “MD” appears.

3Press MENU/NO on the remote. “TAPE?” appears.

4Press ENTER/YES on the remote.

To switch back to “MD”, do the procedure again.

Recording on a connected

component

Making a digital recording on a digital component1 Connect the digital optical cable.

See “Hooking up optional components” on page 22.

2 Start recording.

Refer to the operating instructions provided with connected component.

Making an analog recording on a component

1 Connect the audio cord.

2 Start recording.
