Chapter 3 Connecting to a Macintosh

This chapter describes the installation procedure for connecting the 1600L i.LINK drive to a Macintosh G4, Blue and White G3, iBook and iMac DV computer with FireWire built-in. For connecting the 1600L i.LINK drive to a PC, please consult “Connecting to a PC” on page 20.

System Requirements

•Apple G4, Blue and White G3, iBook and iMac DV with built in FireWire ports (The 1600L i.LINK drive does not support the Apple FireWire PCI card.)

•Mac® OS 8.6, 9.0.4, 9.1

•32 Mb RAM

•Apple FireWire 2.1 or higher software required

Make sure that your package contains all the items listed:

i.LINK 12X8X32X ReWritable

POWER

❏6 foot i.LINK cable

❏AC power cord

❏Software CD-ROM (for Macintosh)

❏1 blank high speed CD-RW disc
