Playback on DVD devices

Making the disc compatible with playback on DVD devices or DVD drives (Finalizing)

Finalizing makes the recorded DVD compatible for playback with DVD devices and DVD drives of computers.

Playback compatibility with any DVD device is not guaranteed.

The following settings are available before finalizing.

Select the type of DVD menu to view disc content (see page 59)*

Create a Photomovie to view still images (see page 59)*

Change the disc titles (see page 59)

The DVD type determines finalizing characteristics.

Discs that must be finalized...

Discs that do not require finalizing... +RWDVD

Disc type +RWDVD has to be finalized in the following cases:

1To create the DVD menus or Photomovie

2To enable playback in DVD drives of computers.

3When only little material is recorded

5 minutes or less in HQ mode, 8 minutes or less in SP mode and 15 minutes or less in LP mode.
