STANDARD SET

Settings while recording or other basic settings

(REC MODE/LCD/VF SET/USB SPEED, etc.)

The default settings are marked with B. The indicators in parentheses appear when the item is selected.

See page 48 for details on selecting setup items.

REC MODE (Recording mode)

You can select an image quality of the movie from three levels.

BHQ ( HQ )

Records in high quality mode

(approx. recordable time is up to 7 hours 20 min.).

SP ( SP )

Records in standard quality mode (approx. recordable time is up to 10 hours 50min.).

LP ( LP )

Increases the recording time (Long Play) (approx. recordable time is up to 20 hours 50 min.).

The remaining recordable time is displayed on the screen.

The maximum number of recordable movies is 9,999.

If you record in the LP mode, the quality of scenes may be degraded, or scenes with quick movements may appear with a block noise when you play back the images.

VOLUME

See page 31.

MULTI-SOUND

You can select whether to play back audio recorded using [REC CTRL](p.73) with dual sound or stereo sound.

BSTEREO

Plays back with main and sub sound (or stereo sound).

Plays back with main sound or the left channel sound.

Plays back with sub sound or the right channel sound.

The setting returns to [STEREO] after you remove the power source for more than five minutes.

MICREF LEVEL

You can select the microphone level for recording sound.

Select [LOW] when you want to record exciting and powerful sound in a concert hall, etc.

BNORMAL

Records various surround sounds, converting them into the same level.

LOW ( )

Records surround sound faithfully. This setting is not suitable for recording conversations.

The setting returns to [NORMAL] after you remove the power source for more than five minutes.

SUR MONITOR

You can display the direction from which the recording sound comes when recording in 5.1ch mode.
