•When this function is set to [EXT ONLY], does not flash even when there is no tape inserted.

•You can use the REC START/STOP button of your camcorder as a recording start/stop button for the external recording unit when you set this function to [EXT ONLY]. Use the REC button of the video control buttons (p. 134) to start recording on a tape or the STOP button to stop recording.

• (EXT ONLY) flashes when you connect an external recording unit that is not supported by [EXT ONLY].

Stops recording operation of a connected device by putting it in pause when you stop recording operation of your camcorder.
