Troubleshooting

Should you encounter a problem with your system, do the following:

1Make sure the power cord and speaker cords are connected correctly and firmly.

2Find your problem in the troubleshooting checklist below and take the indicated corrective action.

If the problem persists after doing all of the above, consult your nearest Sony dealer.

Note that if service personnel changes some parts during repair, these parts may be retained.

In the event of a problem, have a Sony dealer check the entire system together.

When the STANDBY indicator flashes

Immediately unplug the power cord on the subwoofer and check the following items.

If your subwoofer have a voltage selector, is the voltage selector set to the correct voltage?

Check the voltage for your region, then make sure the voltage selector is set correctly.

Are the + and – speaker cords short- circuited?

Are you using the supplied speakers?

Is anything blocking the ventilation holes on the rear of the unit?

After checking the above items and fixing any problems, plug in the power cord again and turn on the system. If the STANDBY indicator still flashes, or if the cause of the problem cannot be found even after checking all the above items, consult your nearest Sony dealer.

General

The display starts flashing as soon as you plug in the power cord even though you have not turned on the system.

The demonstration mode started. Press "/1 (page 14).

The clock or timer setting is canceled.

The power cord is disconnected or a power failure occurred. Redo “Setting the clock” (page 17). If you have set the timer, redo “Using the timer” (page 38).

“– –:– –” appears in the display.

The clock is not set. Set the clock (page 17).

A power failure has occurred. Set the clock (page 17) and timer settings (page 38) again.
