Adjusting the fader (FAD)

Normally,withtheDSPmodeon,thevolume oftheoutputsoundfromtherearspeakersis loweredautomaticallytoimprovethe efficiencyofthelisteningpositionsetting.If youwanttoraisetherearspeakervolume, adjustthefader.

1 Followsteps1to3of“Selectinga surroundmenu”(page35).

2 Press (SOUND)repeatedlyuntil“FAD” appears.

3 Rotatethedialtoadjustthefader.

Afterthreeseconds,thedisplayreturnsto thenormalplaybackmode.

Adjusting the volume of the subwoofer(s)

1 Press (SOURCE)toselectasource(tuner,

CD,orMD).

2 Press (SOUND)repeatedlyuntil“SUB” appears.

3 Rotate the dial to adjust the volume.

Afterthreeseconds,thedisplayreturnsto thenormalplaybackmode.

Tip

When you rotate the dial to turn the volume all the way down, “Sub ATT” appears and the cutout frequency of the subwoofer is disabled.

Adjusting the frequency of the subwoofer(s)

Tomatchthecharacteristicsoftheconnected subwoofer(s),youcancutouttheunwanted highandmiddlefrequencysignalsentering thesubwoofer(s).Bysettingthecut-off frequency(seethediagrambelow),the subwoofer(s)willoutputonlylowfrequency signalssoyoucangetaclearersoundimage.

Tip

Each time you press (5) (n), the mode changes between subwoofer volume adjusting mode and the cut-off frequency adjusting mode.
