If you use external speakers, check that the speakers are properly connected and the volume is turned

 

up. If the speakers have a mute button, make sure it is off. If batteries power the speakers, check that

 

the batteries are inserted properly and that they are charged.

If you have connected an audio cable to the headphone connector, disconnect the cable.

My microphone does not work

If you are using an external microphone, check that the microphone is plugged into the microphone connector.

About the modem

My internal modem does not work

Check that the phone line is plugged into your computer.

Check that the phone line is working. You can check the line by plugging in an ordinary phone and

 

listening for a dial tone.

Check that the phone number the program is dialing is correct.

In the Modems Properties dialog box (Control Panel / Modems), check that your modem is listed in

 

the General tab, and that the location information is correct on the Dialing Properties tab.

If you do not see the Modems icon, proceed as follows:

1In Control Panel click Tools menu and select Folder Options…

2Select the View tab.

3In the Advanced settings text box, select the Display all Control Panel options and all folder contents option.

4Click OK.
