1Place the player on a flat place with the embossed “QUALIA 017” facing up, and then push down the OPEN lever slightly to open the player lid.

5Turn the player over with the embossed “SONY” facing up. Then move the bottom in the direction of the arrow to remove it.

2 Push down on the part of the arrow

shown below to open the lid wider.

6 Remove the black insulating sheet.

3Set the BUILT-IN BATTERY switch located inside the right side of the player in the direction of the arrow.

4Remove the two screws from the player as shown below.

7Remove the built-in rechargeable battery in the battery holder.

8Attach a piece of insulating tape over the power supply board connector.
