THE SAMPLER (1601S ONLY)

THE CONTROLS

1 RE-WRITE

This button is used to over-record any pre-recorded samples.

LOOP-RE-WRITE: If recording over a loop that is currently playing, the old loop will continue to be played until the new loop has finished recording.

NOTE: This works best when replacing a loop that is the same length or shorter than the one playing back. If recording a longer loop over a shorter one, some of the new loop may be played back when the portion of memory containing the old loop has been written over. The loop playing back during resample will be in sync.

2 PLAY MODE: LOOP, 1-SHOT, REVERSE

This switch selects the three play modes. LOOP mode automatically creates the loop and plays it continuously. 1-SHOT mode re- starts the sample each time the REC/MUTE button is pressed which allows you to play short bursts of audio. REVERSE mode plays the sample backwards when the REC/MUTE button is pressed.

3 TAP/CLEAR

This button allows you to manually enter a tempo by hand or erase the current BPM value. The TAP feature should be used to set the BPM rate if there is no audio signal present or when the beat information becomes unavailable during a quiet passage of the audio. The CLEAR feature can be used to cancel the current BPM. Note: this doesn’t clear the samples from the REC/MUTE pads.

4 A & B FADERS

These 25mm travel faders are digitally controlled in the DSP and are used to adjust the playback volume of the two sample pads.

In 1-SHOT mode this doubles as a fader start REC/MUTE function. You can trigger the playback of the sampler by moving the fader from its home position.

NOTE: in 1=shot mode, if you leave the fader open, the sample will loop.
