FOC(Fan-OffControl)

ThenewlydesignedSOYO“FOC”isbasedontheconceptoftotalprotectionforCPU,whichisverydifferentfrom currentlyseenonthemarket.TheH/Wcontrolfunctionisusedtoseeapassivesecuritysystemofmonitoringandwarning. “FOC”,designedbySOYO,givesemphasisontheconceptoftotalprotection.S/WSimultaneousSignalFollow-ups techniquesandAutoPowerOffSystemareincludedtopreventallpossibledamagecausedbytheMAL-functioningofthe CPUfan.Withthehelpof“O/SOnTimeMonitoringAndWarning”function,providedbytheH/Wmonitoringsystem,the double-protectionpurposeisachieved.

“FOC”includesthefollowingfunctions:

(1)SimultaneousSignalFollowUps:BeforethesystementerstheO/S,H/WwilldetectthesignalsoftheCPUfanpins,get theirrevolutioninformationandsendittotheBIOS.

(2)AutoPowerOffSystem:IftheBIOSgetstheinformationofCPUfanrevolution,itgoesonworkingnormally.Ifnot,itwill informthesystemandhavethepowersupplydisconnectedimmediately.Thus,theCPUisprotectedfrom overheating.

Note:Thefollowingmustbeobservedtosecurethenormalfunctioningof“Fan-OffControl”:

1.CPUfanwithsensorpinsmustbeused.

2.CPUfansapprovedbyAMDarestronglyrecommended.

3.The“HOTKEY”functionisprovidedfortheCPUfanswithoutsensorpins,toavoidthepoweroff.Usersmaypressthe “Insert”keytojumpoverthe“PowerOff”mode;gototheBIOSanddisable“FOC”.Nowsystemcanbebooted normally.

4.ThepowerconnectoroftheCPUfanmustbeconnectedtothespecified“CPUFanConnector”onthemotherboardto securethenormalfunctioningofthesystem.

WeprovidethefollowingUser-Friendlyprotectionfeatures:

1.Fan-OffControl:ThemotherboarddetectsthestatusoftheCPUfanandprotectstheCPUbyautomatically disconnectingthepowersupply.ThedefaultvalueofthisfunctionisEnable.Afterbootingup,theusermay disableit.

2.CPUSocketSticker:UserswillfindastickerontheCPUsocket,whichremindsthemofthecorrectusageofthe K7CPU.

3.HeatDissipationPaste:HeatDissipationPasteisincludedforallSocket-A motherboards,toenhancetheheat dissipationcapability.

Furthermore,westronglyrecommendouruserstoenablethefunctionofH/WmonitoringintheBIOS.Thisfunction, togetherwiththeFOC,providethetotalprotectiontotheCPUandallowittomaximizeitsperformance.
