Chapter 8: Using the Printer with MS-DOS
This chapter contains information about how to use the printer with applications
software running under MS-DOS. In this chapter, you will learn about:
❏How to set up for printing with MS-DOS.

Setting up for printing with MS-DOS

To print from an application running under MS-DOS, you must first select the
printer from within the application. Typically, the program will feature an INSTALL
or SETUP command for selection of printers. Refer to the manual for the application
you are using for details on how to select a printer for it.
❏Start up the application and use the correct procedure for that application to
select a printer. The following is a list of printers that can be used. If your
application lists more than one of these, select the printer that is nearest to the
top of this list. For these printers, you should use the EDS Mode or User Setup
Utility to select standard emulation (page 47).
Note:
Remember that you must select a printer for each individual application before you
can print from it.

Réglage pour l’impression avec MS-DOS

Pour imprimer avec un programme d’application du système MS-DOS, vous devez
d’abord sélectionner l’imprimante dans le programme d’application. Généralement,
les programmes d’application contiennent des commandes INSTALL ou SETUP
pour la sélection des imprimantes. Consultez le mode d’emploi du programme
d’application utilisé pour plus de détails sur la sélection d’une imprimante.
❏Lancez le programme et effectuez la procédure requise par le programme
d’application pour sélectionner une imprimante. La liste suivante indique les
imprimantes qui peuvent être utilisées. Si votre programme d’application
contient plusieurs de ces imprimantes, sélectionnez celle qui est la plus proche
de la tête de liste. Pour ces imprimantes, utilisez le mode EDS ou l’utilitaire
d’impression pour sélectionner l’émulation standard (page 47).
Remarque:
Vous devez sélectionner l’imprimante dans chaque programme d’application pour
pouvoir imprimer.
