Appendix A: Troubleshooting
This appendix will help you if you experience problems with your printer. It tells
you how to test the printer, how to check system software settings, and how to adjust
the vertical alignment. In addition, there is information on actions to take for specific
problems.

Testing the printer

There are three different tests you can use: a short test, a long test and a hexadecimal
dump.
Short test
❏Make sure that paper is loaded in the printer.
❏Turn the printer off.
❏While holding down the control panel’s ON LINE button, turn the printer on.
The short test prints the version number of the software contained in the printer’s
ROM followed by the current EDS settings.
Warning!
The printer uses high voltage. Do not attempt any other repair or maintenance
except as expressly recommended in this appendix. Unauthorized repair and
maintenance not only exposes you to the danger of electrical shock, it also may
damage your printer and void your warranty.
Annexe A: Dépannage
Si vous avez des problèmes lors de l’utilisation de l’imprimante, consultez cette
annexe qui indique la manière de tester l’imprimante, de vérifier les réglages du
logiciel système, et de régler l’alignement vertical. L’Annexe contient également les
démarches à suivre pour remédier à certains problèmes spécifiques.

Tests de l’imprimante

Vous avez la possibilité d’effectuer trois essais différents à savoir: un test court, un
test complet et un vidage hexadécimal.
Test court
❏Assurez-vous que l’imprimante contient du papier.
❏Mettez l’imprimante hors tension.
❏Tout en tenant enfoncée la touche ON LINE du panneau de commande, allumez
l’imprimante.
Le test réduit imprime le numéro de version du logiciel contenu dans la mémoire
morte de l’imprimante, suivi des réglages EDS courants.
Attention!
Cette imprimante fonctionne en haute tension. N’essayez pas d’effectuer de
procédures de réparations ou d’entretien qui ne sont pas spécifiquement
recommandées dans cette Annexe. Si vous exécutez ces procédures sans
autorisation, vous risquez d’être exposé à des chocs électriques et d’endommager
l’imprimante et de perdre vos droits de garantie.
