Chapter 1. The Adaptive Server AnywhereSNMP Extension Agent
❖Tocheck that the SNMP services are installed on your computer
1. Open the Control Panel.
♦OnWindows 2000, from the Start menu choose Settings ➤Control
Panel.
♦OnWindows XP, from the Start menu choose Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools.
3. Double-click Services.
Theservices SNMP Service and SNMP Trap Service appear in the list of
localservices.
Ifyou installed SNMP before you installed SQL Anywhere Studio, you need
tostop and restart the SNMP service so it will detect the Adaptive Server
AnywhereSNMP Extension Agent. Ifyou installed SQL Anywhere Studio
andthen installed SNMP, the SNMP service will detect the Adaptive Server
AnywhereSNMP Extension Agent automatically.
❖Torestart the SNMP service (Control Panel)
1. Open the Control Panel.
♦OnWindows 2000, from the Start menu choose Settings ➤Control
Panel.
♦OnWindows XP, from the Start menu choose Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools.
3. Double-click Services.
4. Right-click SNMP Service and choose Restart from the popup menu.
Thisstops and restarts the SNMP service.
❖Torestart the SNMP service (Command line)
1. Open a command prompt and execute the following command:
net stop snmp
Thisstops the SNMP service.
2. Execute the following command:
net start snmp
Thisstarts the SNMP service.
