Replacing
the batteries
The PTC-860’s AFAT ni ckel-cadmi um batter y pack or AA
alkaline batteries may be replaced when necessary.
CAUTION! Do not remove or install a PTC-860NI’s
battery pack in a hazardous location. These procedures
are approved for use with the PTC-860NI only in
non-hazardous locations.
Note: Once you remove the PTC’s batteries, the backup
battery, if used continuously, will protect stored programs and
data for up to twenty days. If you do not rep lace the batteries
within that time, your PTC’s stored programs and data will be
lost.
Equipment required:
•A small screwdriver or the screwdriver on the
PTC-860’s elastic strap
©Removing the batteries
1. Turn off the PTC.
2. Lay the PTC facedown, with the bottom toward you.
3. Locate the battery door and the two screws secu ring it.
4. Unscrew the two screws using the small screwdriver.
Note: Do not remove the screws from the battery door. The
screws are designed to stay in the door when it is removed
from the PTC.
