7. Switch on the computer and the switch.
If no protocol driver has been loaded, go to chapter 4 "Installation of the Driver S oftware". After
driver installation, return to step 8 of this list.
If a protocol driver has been loaded, continue with step 8.
8. Check the correct polarity with the green link LED on the network adapter.
If the LED is illuminated, the connection is established and active.
9. For fiber-optic SC Duplex connection: If the green link LED does not li ght, power off the com-
puter and the switch.
10. Remove the SC duplex connector either from the computer (network adapter) or from the
switch.
11. Reverse the positions of TX and RX and re-connect.
12. Repeat steps 7 and 8 from this list.
13. Mark the correct polarity on the connector or the cable.
If there is still no indication that a connection has been established, y ou will need to check the
network adapter more closely (for details, refer to section "Diagnostic s Program" on page 45 ).
If a connection to the network is established, the installation of the network adapter i s complete.
