TIME key Press this key to cycle through the time
display modes.

DISPLAY key Press this key to see the current d isc
title when the disc is stopped, or the curr ent track title
while in playback or ready mode.
When entering TEXT data, u sing this key switches the
text characters.

REPEAT key Changes between the various repeat
modes when playing back (see “Repeat playback” on
page 19).

A-B key Sets the A to B repeat points and playback
mode (see “A to B repeat playback” on page 20).

DIRECTORY key Use this key to switch MP3 file
directory playback on and off.
6 PITCH key Switches pitch control on and off.

FADER key Use this key to start fade-in recording s or
to start a fade-out when recording (see “Fade-in a nd
fade-out recording” on page 25 for details).

RECORD key Use this key to enter record ready mode.

SEARCH keys (∆/˚) Use these keys to move the
playback position inside a track.

STOP key Use this key to stop playback or recording.

READY k ey Use this k ey to s tandby for pla yback
or reco rding.

SYNC REC key Use this key to turn synchron ized
recording on and off (see “Synchronized recordi ng” on
page 25 for details).

EJECT key Ejects the loaded disc from the unit.

Number keys (0 through 9) Use these keys for direct
entry of track numbers when playing back, or m aking a
programmed play list.

CLEAR key Clears a mistaken entry m ade with the
number keys.
In the program mode, pressing this key cancels t he
program entered at the last.
It also acts like the ESCAPE key in the Menu mode.

ENTER key Pressing this key is equivalent to pressing
the MULTI JOG dial to confirm an entr y.

MENU key Switches the menu mode on or off.

PLAY MODE key Use this key to choose between the
different playback modes (single play, continue play, etc.).

ERASE key Erases tracks (CD-RW discs only), or a
whole disc, or to refresh a “bad” disc, or to unfi nalize a
finalized disc (see “Erasing” on page 29 for details).

FINALIZE key Finalizes recordable discs. See
“Finalizing” on page 28 for details.

REC MUTE key Use this key when recording, to mute
the input signal for about four seconds and then to enter
record ready mode (see “Rec mute function” on page 27).

SKIP (Â/¯) keys Use these keys to move
between tracks when playing back (equivalent to rotat-
ing the MULTI JOG dial).
d PLAY key Use this key to start playback, or enter
record mode from record ready mode.
