Prevention of accidents at home

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the appliance is operating. Never touch the hot surfaces of the appliance.

Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in or in use.

If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.

Do not consume foodstuff that comes into contact with the parts marked with logo.

Before you use your appliance for the first time - Assembly

Place the appliance on a flat stable, heat-resistant surface: avoid using it on a soft surface such as a tea-towel.

Do not place the appliance on or near slippery or hot surfaces, never leave the cord hanging over a heat source (cooking plates, gas cooker...).

Press the button to open the appliance - (1)

Remove any packaging, stickers or accessories inside or on the outside of the appliance.

On first use, prime the cooking plates by wiping over them with a cloth dipped in a little cooking oil. Wipe off any excess oil using an absorbent kitchen towel.

Check the appliance is cool and unplugged before changing the plates.

To remove the plates: press the buttons - (2)

To put the plates back in position : position the plate at an angle and press on the plate to lock it into place - (3)

Connection and pre-heating

• Close the appliance.

• Plug the cord in the wall socket: the red light comes on - (4)

• Check that your electric supply is compatible with the power and the voltage indicated under the appliance.

Plug the appliance into a wall socket with an earth connection.

If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Cooking

Allow the appliance to pre-heat, the green light comes on when the correct cooking temperature is reached - (4)

Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance: use the handles.

After use

Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.

 

• Unplug the cord from the wall socket.

 

 

• Leave the appliance to cool down (about 1 hour) in an open position before removing the plates to wash

• You can also clean the plates and the body of the appliance using a sponge and your usual washing up liquid.

 

• Do not use scouring pads or harsh abrasive powder.
