as set out in the Radio Interference Regulations of Industry in Canada. These limits are designed to provide
reasonableprotection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and
can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause
harmfulinterference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a
particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television (which can be
determinedby turning the equipment off), the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of
thefollowing measures:
Reorientor relocate the receiving antenna.
Increasethe separation between the equipment and receiver.
Connectthe equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
Consultthe dealer or an experienced radio / TV technician for help.

Allcolor television receivers are sensitive to magnetic influences, usually caused by either moving the receiver from
oneplace to another or using certain electrical appliances near the receiver. The residual magnetism as it is called,
sometimes causes distortion which gives rise to “blotchy” areas of color in the picture. Toavoid these effects the
receiverincorporates an automatic degaussing circuit which operates for a short while immediately each time the
receiveris switched on using the main switch. This circuit removes any residual magnetism in the metal parts of the
picture tube and therefore ensures that each time the receiver is switched on. If the set is moved or faced in a
differentdirection, the main switch must be switched off for at least 10 minutes in order for the automatic degaussing
circuitto operate properly.
