QWhy is there no sound or picture? QWhy don't the controls on the top of the
television work?
ACheck the television is not in standby mode.
Check the mains plug and all mains connections. ACheck that CHILD LOCK is not selected.
QWhy is there a picture but no sound? QWhy is the sound only coming from one speaker
when stereo sound is selected?
ACheck the volume has not been turned down or
that sound mute has not been selected. ACheck that the balance in the SOUND menu hasn't
been set to one side.
QWhat can cause a poor picture? QWhy are there problems with analogue text
service?
AInterference or a weak signal. Try a different
television station. AGood performance of the analogue text depends
on a good strong broadcast signal. This normally
requires a roof or loft aerial. If the text is
unreadable or garbled, check the aerial. Go to the
main index page of the analogue text service and
look for the User Guide.
QWhy doesn't the video/DVD being played show
on screen? QWhat is DVB-T?
AMake sure the media recorder or DVD player is
connected to the television as illustrated in the
beginning chapters, and then select the correct
input by pressing SOURCE.ADigital Video Broadcast via an aerial/antenna.
QWhy is the VCR/DVD picture in black and
white? QHow are radio channels selected?
ACheck that the correct EXT 1 input setting has
been chosenor AV. AYou can select them via the Channel List.
QWhy is there a good video picture but no sound? QWhat can be done if the PIN number has been

orgotten?
ACheck all lead connections.

received. Check the volume has not been turned
down or that sound mute has not been selected. A

QWhy doesn't the remote control work? QWhy are there horizontal stripes and/or blurred
images on the screen when in PC mode?
ACheck the batteries aren't dead or inserted
incorrectly. AThe Phase may need adjustment. Select PC
Settings and highlight Phase and adjust until the
picture clears.
