Installing the CPU
To install the CPU, follow the steps below and refer to the figures in the preceding section.
CAUTION: If you remove the heat sink, use the CPU grease tool to remove the grease on
the CPU and heat sink. Reapply fresh grease before installing the heat sink.
1. Make sure that the notch on the cam is aligned with the open position of the CPU slot.
2. Seat the CPU aligning the triangle mark on the CPU with the one on the CPU socket.
Make sure the alignment is exact to avoid damaging pins on the CPU.
3. Press the CPU softly with your fingers to insert into the socket and turn the cam on the
CPU socket to the closed position with a flat-blade screwdriver to secure the CPU.
4. Seat the heat sink on top of the CPU.
5. Seat the heat sink over the CPU and secure with four M2.5x4 screws. Follow the order
indicated by the numbers on the heat sink.
