Turning the Power On

Make sure that the SmartMedia™ is correctly loaded. ( Page 31)

Press the POWER button to turn the power on.

When the camera is turned on, set the mode dial to the desired mode.

Before photography, make sure that the lens cap has been removed from the camera.

In the photography modes ([ ], [ ] or [ ]), the lens extends from the camera body.

When the camera is turned on, the Auto Power OFF function becomes operational.

IMPORTANT

If no operation is carried out for a fixed amount of time (default: about 1 minute), the power is turned off to preserve battery life. This is called “Auto Power OFF”. To return to the normal state, press the

POWER button again.

Turning the Power Off

Press the POWER button to turn the power off.

The power turns off.

Attach the lens cap when you are not using the camera.
